I remember when I first got a writeup about a character named Glory (it was actually the first cue I was supposed to write for the game) and I knew exactly what I was going to write there and then. Up to that point, the previous composers for Returns had stayed in "this is cyberpunk music" territory in a cool way, so I decided to write a sparse piece with solo piano, cello and clarinet to represent Glory's theme. It was a definitive departure from the rest of the existing music, but Andrew loved it, and that set the tone for the rest of the series.
